Norman Franklin Robinson

COLUMBIA - Norman Franklin Robinson, 84, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011. He was born April 2, 1927 in McArthur, OH. He was a 1945 graduate of McArthur High School. In 1945 he served in the United States Navy and then studied at Ohio State University from 1946 to 1947. Mr. Robinson owned Robinson Electric in McArthur, OH and SC. He worked for Monroe Business Systems of SC as Plant Engineer and retired in 1993. Mr. Robinson was an active member of the Seven Oaks Lions Club, Northern Masonic Supreme Council and the Eastern Star.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Robinson of 64 years and son, Dan Robinson of Columbia SC; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Toni Marie Robinson Prater and parents, Ralph and Hortense Mcarley Robinson.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel, 5400 Bush River Rd. Columbia, SC 29212. Rev. Daniel Burbage of St. Mark United Methodist Church will conduct the service. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 3200 Lyles St., Columbia, SC 29201.
