AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Paul David Walker

18 septembre 1938 – 4 février 2023
Avis de décès de Paul David Walker
AUX SOINS DE

Dunbar Funeral Home - Northeast

On Saturday, February 4, Paul David Walker, 84, passed peacefully with his family at his side in his home in Blythewood, SC. He was born in Ashland Kentucky to the late Arnold Walker and Edna Weaver Walker.

Paul started working at age 11 and had an incredible work ethic and strong family values. He served in the US Army stationed in Alaska. He then went on to be one of the best bricklayers and home builders around working in Kentucky and Ohio before moving to South Carolina. If anything was broken or needed updating Paul was your man. He worked tirelessly for his customers, friends and family often volunteering his time for those in need. Paul could be described as a good listener who never passed judgement on others and often mentored his younger family members on the way of life as well as home construction. He was quick whetted and captured many people with his jokes, funny stories of his experiences in life and interacting with others.

In his spare time you would find him with his family on the lake, fishing, boating, wood working or playing with his dogs Smokey and Bandit. If you were lucky to get invited to a cookout at his house you would taste some incredible fried green tomatoes, catfish, burgers and of course his ice cold Beer! His favorite holiday was Fourth of July and always included an afternoon sunning by the pool and later an amazing firework display. He was a good “ole” boy who loved John Wayne westerns, Louis L’Amour books and traditional country music.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Peggy Deer Walker of 50 years and his daughter Jo Walker-Cooper (Chris) of Spartanburg, his two brothers Ronnie Walker of Columbus, Ohio and Dick Walker (Sandy) of Ashland, Kentucky; His nephew Eric Walker (Joyce) His niece Kym Walker Inks (Mike) and Renee Walker Sleeper (John) nieces Glenda Thompson Hirt (Steve) of Columbia and Rhonda Cunningham of Smyrna, TN and Vicki) Long Beach, California and nephew Eric Thompson of Marysville, OH. He was known as “Pa Pa” to his great nephews Tucker Norton (Amy) and Chase Norton and “PopPop” to his great great niece Cassidy Anne Norton and nephew Carson Norton. Cassidy and Carson spent many weekends with him and would be found laughing and playing and listening to his stories. Cassidy would “watch” over him and Carson liked to listen to his stories. They too enjoyed the lake and fishing with him.

Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel is assisting the family.

There will not be any services for Mr. Walker.
