Richard Allen Mueller

He was born on January 3rd, 1940 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He was the son of Walter and Edna (Whitrock) Mueller. He was the last born of 4 sons. A 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School, he was a veteran, serving in the United States Coast Guard from January 1959 to January 1963.

Richard married Audrey Jean Regalia in 1959 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. The marriage ended in divorce 16 years later. The marriage produced two children, Richard of Waterford, WI and Terri of Columbia South Carolina.

Survivors include his former wife, Audrey of South Carolina; sons, Richard (Judith) Mueller of Waterford, WI and Terri (Rory) Zokan of Columbia, South Carolina ; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Russell, Robert and Ralph.

Richard began his career in sales at Braeger Chevrolet and then at Cook Coffee Company in Wisconsin. Later, he was a merchandise manager at WT Grants which moved the family often to open new stores. He finished his career managing jewelry stores in Milwaukee and then a Dollar General store and an enterprise rental location in Columbia.

He enjoyed Automobiles (especially Studebakers), Sunday drives, car shows, and the Green Bay Packers.

A committal service will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from 12:00 to 12:30 pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.
