Sarah A Clark

COLUMBIA - Sarah Aileen Clark, 91, of Columbia, and formerly of Norfolk, VA, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Lexington Medical Center after an extended battle with cancer. She was greatly loved by her family and she loved her family, friends and church. She will be missed but we know she is at peace with no more suffering. The family appreciates the care given to her by the nurses and doctors at Lexington Medical Center, particularly Dr. Marc Antonetti, and also Abbey Road Hospice.

Memorial services will be held at Riverland Hills Baptist Church Wednesday, December 7, 2011, receiving friends at 12:00 p.m. with services at 1:00 p.m. and burial on Friday, December 9, 2011 in Norfolk, VA. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Clark was born in Mullens, WV, a daughter of the late James M. Whitt and Nettie Rinehart Whitt. She was predeceased by her husband, John H. Clark and a grandson, Jeffrey Legg.

Survivors include her son, Myron Legg, Chicago, IL and a daughter, Brenda Caprani (Larry); three grandchildren, Robin Caprani, Columbia, SC, Gene Caprani (Marie), Seymour, TN, Tracy Kruse (Deon), Chicago, IL; two sisters, Adrone Maxine Davis, Columbia, SC, Frances Shrader, Raleigh, NC; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063 or Harvest Hope Food Bank.
