He was the son of the late John and Lillie Leonhardt from Newberry, South Carolina, born on October 17, 1949. Tommy served in the United States Marine Corps. Tommy was a graduate of Newberry College and the University of Phoenix; he had a degree in electrical engineering and other degrees and retired from Claflin University.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Ann Kiser Leonhardt, of 25 years; his daughter Pamela Heywood Yates; grandchildren Sadie Schmidt (Sam), Logan Ray, Peyton Richbourg, Gage Pierce, Caleb Trimnal, and Rayna Pierce; great-grandchildren Ansley and Andretti Schmidt. He is predeceased by his sister Joann Minick, daughter Melissa Heywood Pierce, and granddaughter Claire Pierce.
Tommy was a devoted husband, father, papa, and great-papa - a pillar of love and strength. His presence was a gift to the family. As we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well lived.
