Veola W. Autry

A graveside service for Veola Walker Autry 91, of Columbia, will be held Monday, December 26, 2011, at 11:30 am at Killian Baptist Church Cemetery, 577 West Killian Road, Columbia. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. Memorials may be made to His House Ministries, 764 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC 29169.

Mrs. Autry died Thursday, December 22, 2011. Born March 18, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Glenn Walker and Fannie Easler Walker. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and an avid collector of dolls.

Survivors include, sons, George (Gale) Autry, Jr. of Columbia, Charles Ray Autry of Weirsdale, FL, Ronald Joe Autry of Murrells Inlet, SC; daughter, Sandra Kay (David) Stooksbury of St. Matthews, SC; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchilren; brother, Junior Earl “Jabo” (Zelma) Walker of Winnsboro, SC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by siblings, Clarence Walker, Irby Walker, Dick Walker, Tommy Walker, Pauline Hagood, Kathleen Davis and Belva Walker.
