Madalene Stewart Plummer was born on November 1, 1956 in Phenix City, Alabama. She was the daughter of Betty Ann Sanders Stewart and Osie Lee Stewart. Madalene was one of ten children to Betty and Osie Stewart. She and her siblings shared an accomplishment of obtaining a black belt in karate. Madalene was married to the late Joseph Plummer in New Brunswick, New Jersey on April 7, 1984. They were married for over 17 years until his homegoing in 2002. Madalene had a greenthumb and took pleasure in growing aloe vera in which all of her children who had a scrape or burn was doctored with the aloe. She loved to read, watch martial arts movies, especially Bruce Lee, bake, listen to Motown music and going to church. She was loved and loved large in return, Madalene will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Madalene is preceded in death by her parents, Osie Lee Stewart, Sr. and Betty Ann Stewart; her husband, Joseph Plummer; and her brothers, Lee Nathan Stewart, Osie Lee Stewart, Jr. and Dennis Earl Stewart.
She leaves her legacy to be cherished by her loving children: Lashonda Nicole Stewart, Danielle Renee (Derrick) Holloway, Reveen Estelle Stewart, Jason Dwayne Stewart, Latoya Diane (Dale) Smith, and Esta Plummer; her loving grandchildren: Nayrought Idear Stewart, Niyah Yvette Sanks, Asjha Danielle Heard, Zira Xi’Bray Lee, Keith Denard Persons, Jr., JoVon Jason Lee, Chardajeh ZyKirah Lee, Josiah R’mon Plummer, Jillian Na’Ree Plummer; her great grandson, Channing A’meir Sanks; her siblings: Betty Jo Harris, Michael Dee Stewart, Patricia Ann McLeod, Gregory George Stewart, Marie Stewart, and Jennifer Louise Stewart; and numerous other relatives and good friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 12:30 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia. Burial will be in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. Family will visit with friends on Sunday, October 27, 2019 in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia.
