Agnes Marie Monte

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA. 31907 with Reverend Ralph Horne officiating. A private burial will be held at Girard Cemetery, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Monte was born in Chattahoochee County, GA. on December 13, 1916 to the late Benjamin Mitchell Pearce and Josephine Applewhite Pearce. She was a life long resident of Columbus and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Ronald Monte and Leroy Monte, her siblings, Mary Julia Ann Pearce, Mitchell David Pearce, Bobby Lee Pearce, Dudley Pearce, Margaret Inez Pearce, Edna Earl Pearce, Neal Grady Pearce and Catherine Josephine Pearce.

Survivors include her daughter, Agnes Juanita Youngblood and husband Wilbur of Box Springs, GA. eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
