Alana Ann Clayton, affectionately known by her family as Lany, was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend. She loved her kids and spending time with them, especially summer days at the pool. She loved being outside and in the sun whether it was at the pool or the beach, that was her happy place. She loved music and always held a special place in her heart for 90s country music. Lany was quite the animal lover and when she wasn’t talking about her kids she was talking about her pets. She enjoyed plants, even naming them. Lany loved food and she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
Alana passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep at the young age of 36. She will live on in the hearts and memory of all who loved and knew her, but she will be greatly missed.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her children: Morgan Davis, Cambree Gunsby, Hudson Gunsby, and Bowen Gunsby; her mom, Deborah Wood and step father James Wood; her sisters: Celeste Brooks (Cullen Brooks), Lyndsay Lewis (Matthew Lewis), Christyn West (Tim West); and Amber Wood; her brother Arick Wood (Alexandra); her nieces and nephews, Catelynn Hathaway, Skylar Brooks, Ryder Brooks, Maci Brooks, Maelynn Galbraith, Alli West, Ava West, and Olivia West. The family would also like to acknowledge Lany’s close friend Jamie Nichols.
Family will visit with friends on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM in the Mill Room at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
