Anneliese Venavides, age 85, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on January 27, 2022. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia with burial following at Parkhill Cemetery.
Anneliese was born in Munich, Germany on March 25, 1936 to the late Johan Klammer and Anna Pfefferkorn. She graduated from a Convent in Germany. She worked hard at all she did including jobs as a Veterinary Assistant, Health Services, and Bakery Production.
Anneliese lost her mother at the tender age of seven and grew to be a compassionate, strong and caring woman. She moved to the United States with her then husband, Merced Venavides and two children, teaching herself to speak English. She loved church and was a proud member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She could often be found working diligently in her garden, spending time with her family or traveling to the mountains or Savannah, Georgia. Anneliese will be remembered for her strength, commitment to hard work and her unending love for her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Johan Klammer and Anna Pfefferkorn.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria L. Venavides-Downey; son, Enrique Venavides (Donna); grandchildren, Nicholas A. Venavides Downey (Diana), Liesa Venavides and Jodie Venavides; great grandchildren, Lucy M.A. Downey-Cruz and Luis Carlo-Cruz.
