Barbara Calhoun

Barbara Calhoun, age 75, resident of Columbus, died on Friday, April 10, 2013 at her residence. Graveside services are scheduled at Riverdale Cemetery on Friday, April 12, 2013, 1 p.m. with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 9, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Calhoun, daughter of the late Jim John Cato and Barbara Lee Sanders Cato, was born April 4, 1938 in Marion County, Georgia. She was a homemaker and Baptist by faith. Mrs. Calhoun was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Pelham and three brothers, Leroy Cato, Chester Cato, and James Cato. She is survived by her husband of over 59 years, J.T. Calhoun of Columbus; one daughter, Janet Andrews and her husband Gordon Terrell Andrews of Lincoln, Alabama; one brother, Billy Frank Cato and his wife Ann Cato of Columbus; two grandsons, Jason Scott Andrews of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Bryan Howell Andrews and his wife Stephanie Andrews of McDonough, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Leah, Logan, and Carlee; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
