Barbara G Marshburn

Barbara Goodroe Marshburn died on Friday, December 10, 2021 at her residence. Services will be held at Striffler Hamby Mortuary on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 2 pm with visitation being held one hour prior.

Mrs. Marshburn was born July 27, 1926 in Coweta County, Ga., daughter of the later JT and Izzie Robards Goodroe. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Maurice of Mobile, AL, Doyle, Elton, and Bill Goodroe and her sisters, Letha Goodroe and Sadie Eidson all of Newnan.

She was the widow of Carl W. Marshburn who predeceased her on June 22, 1976. She was a homemaker and had lived in Columbus since 1965 coming with her husband and family during the build up from the Vietnam conflict. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, a life member of DAVA #56, and Chattahoochee Valley Vietnams Council.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann (David) McNeer of Hamilton, Ga., sons; Richard G. (Kathy) Marshburn of Hartsel, Colorado, Carl Gene (Josie) Marshburn of Atlanta. Ga., and Gregory S. (Mary) Marshburn of Riveria Beach, Florida; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
