Betty J. Barron, age 80, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Betty’s family will have a private service and committal in Parkhill Cemetery. A private family viewing will be Wednesday February 10, 2021.
Betty was born April 13, 1940 in Columbus, Georgia to Sarah Calhoun Hill and Charles Hill. Betty was a teacher by trade. She was a life-long resident of Columbus. Betty was a care giver, along with being a mother, wife, grandmother and friend. Betty loved her family and in one fatal moment, lost her daughter, mother and severely disabled her grandchild. After the accident Betty devoted her life to caring for her granddaughter, and then her husband.
Betty is survived by daughter Sarah Elizabeth Sellers (Chris); sister Sarah Francis Chesser and sister Shirley Ann Bedsole; granddaughter Christina Alexis Doane, grandson William Joshua Ray Sellers (Yvonne) and grandson Aaron Sellers.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Ray Barron; daughter Katherine Lynn Barron Doane; father Charles Hill and mother Sarah Calhoun Hill.
