Betty Azell Bartee

Betty Azell Bartee, 77, of Columbus, GA passed away at her home, Sunday, December 17, 2017.The family will welcome guests for visitation Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be Thursday, December 21, 2017 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby at 2:00 pm followed by a Committal Service at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating.

Mrs. Bartee was born March 8, 1940 in Blount County, AL to her late parents Orbin and Vera Crow Horton. She was a Textile worker by trade and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Betty adored her very close family and cooking for family gatherings. She loved flowers and gardening. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Bartee is preceded in death by: her husband of 41 years, Jack Bartee; two brothers, Ermon and Steve Horton. She is survived by: her loving sister, Inez (Hugh) Bartee; two sons, Ricky and Gerald Bartee; one daughter, Donna (Ray) Baker; grandchildren Tricia Powers and Tonya Ciccarello; great grandchildren, Layla, Brody, Haley, and Hunter; lifelong and loving friend, Betty Ann McGuire; nieces, nephew, other family members and many, many friends.
