Betty N. Cooper

Betty N. Cooper, age 98, of Columbus, GA, died on Sunday, November 3, 2024. A Visitation for Family and Friends will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. A Funeral Mass will occur Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Holy Family Church, 320 12th St., Columbus, GA 31901.

Betty was born on November 2, 1926, in Silver Spring, MD, to Grace and Harry Naehr. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was active in the Altar Society and a member of the Council of Catholic Women at Holy Family Church. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Francis Hospital of Columbus, GA.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Bruce) Robinson of Huntsville, AL and Diane (David) Tyner of Autaugaville, AL; her sons, Robert (Angela) Cooper of Midland, GA and David (Eva) Cooper of Shiloh, GA; her son-in-law, William R. McKenzie of Midland, GA; her sister, Marge Webb of Niceville, FL; her brother, Jerry Naehr of Lilburn, GA. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren: Teri, Kelly, Jennifer, Amber, Rob, Lance, Tara, Heather, Hillary, Amy, Melissa, Adams, John, and Michael, as well as thirty-three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben H. Cooper Jr.; her daughter, Patricia C. McKenzie; her sisters, Mary J. Naehr, Delores N. Smith, and Terry N. Campbell; and her brothers, Robert C. Naehr, Harry F. Naehr Jr, and Jim Naehr.
