Betty Ruth Curry

Arrangements under the direction of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.Betty Ruth Curry, 84 of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday February 12, 2017 under the care of Columbus Hospice. The family will welcome guests for visitation Wednesday February 15, 2017 starting at 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 pm in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd Columbus, GA, followed by a Committal Service at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Bud Rupel officiating.

Mrs. Curry was born February 24, 1932 to her late parents Lesley and Ethel Duke Massey in Columbus, GA. She was a lifelong member of Evangel Temple and enjoyed the New Covenant Sunday School Class where she attended until her health declined. Mrs. Curry was a sweet Christian mother who loved family gatherings.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Curry is preceded in death by: her husband Thurston Lee Curry of Columbus; sister Judith Alaina Parsons; and daughter Constance June Hanson. Those left to cherish her memory are: daughter Jennifer (Louis) Creamer of Phenix City, AL; brother Robert A (Jewel) Massey of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren Jill Delaine (Mark) Gilliland, L. Gentry (Racheal) Creamer III, Chariss Elizabeth (Brandon) Nix, Camron Hanson Davi, and Lauren Elizabeth Akers; great grandchildren Gavin Samuel High and Jaxon Mark Gilliland; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
