Betty June Kuykendall, 88, of Smiths, Alabama, formerly of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia. Born April 21, 1935 in Paulding County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Lee and Gordie L. (Freeman) Poole.
Betty was a hairstylist for many years and worked at Dixie Real Estate before retiring. She enjoyed her family and extended family. She was loved and will be truly missed by all.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years of marriage, Alton G. Kuykendall; her loving children, Denise (Tom) Weierick, Randy (Cissy) Kuykendall, Tony (Kelly) Kuykendall; her loving 5 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; and her loving brothers, Clarence Poole Jr. and Buddy Poole. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving brother, Jack Poole.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Edgewood Hall, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00AM. Rev. Will Walley will be officiating the service. Family will visit with friends at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA on Friday evening, May 19, 2023 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Committal will take place at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Saturday following Chapel Service.
