It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Blake, beloved son, brother, father, and friend on 3/7/25. He was 42 years old and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Blake was born 11/11/82, and from the very beginning he exemplified joy and warmth that drew people to him.
Blake grew up in Rockford, MN where he developed a passion for art, games and always living life to the fullest. He was known for his bluntness, sense of humor, and unwavering support for his family, friends, especially David Sartwell, Blakes best friend for the last 32 years.
Blake entered the Army after graduating high school. He spent 20 years committed to his service and was respected for his dedication and professionalism. He had a knack for making people feel valued and was always willing to lend an ear or offer a helping hand. He retired as a First Sergeant in 2021.
As a father to Henry, Christian, and Anwar, Blake poured his heart into every moment spent with his children. Blake had a profound love for them and taught them all he could in the values of hard work, artistic expression, courage, and resilience. His playful spirit and creative imagination made family time treasured, whether it was through simple acts like storytelling, playing games, or exploring the great outdoors. His love for them was boundless, and the lessons he imparted will undoubtedly live on in their lives.
In addition to being a devoted father to his children, Blake formed a meaningful relationship with Shniel Edwards and her children. Together, they created a unique family dynamic filled with love and shared experiences that their children will always hold dear.
Rest in peace, dear Blake. He truly impacted everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of his adventurous spirit, love, strength, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
