Phenix City, Alabama- Bob Ferris, age 56, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, died on Monday, September 2, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Friday, September 6, 2013, 1 p.m. with Reverend Grant Parker officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum, Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Ferris, son of Robert Pearl Ferris and Bertie Eileen Randall Ferris, was born April 25, 1957 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country honorably for over 11 years. After his military service, he began a new career as an Occupational Therapist where he faithfully served the Columbus/Phenix City area for over 20 years. During the latter part of his career, he faithfully worked for over 13 years at HPRC. Mr. Ferris was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Djuana C. Ferris. Mr. Ferris is survived by one daughter, Michelle Ferris of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sons, Bobby (Priscilla) Ferris of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kyle Ferris of Phenix City, Alabama; his father, Robert Ferris of Lakeland, Florida; his mother, Bertie Ferris of Okeechobee, Florida; one sister, Tamara Curtis of Landolakes, Florida; two brothers, Richard Ferris Landolakes, Florida and Donnie Ferris of Okeechobee, Florida; seven grandchildren, Kaci, Destinee, Kameron, Isaac, Anthony, Sugar, and Leila; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
