

Bradley R. Boland, Jr., age 92, resident of Columbus, died on Monday, October 15, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Friday, October 19, 2012, 3 p.m. with Reverend Thad Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Boland, son of the late Bradley Raymond Boland, Sr. and Lois Goins Boland, was born October 14, 1920 in Richland, GA. He actively attended Morningside Baptist Church and was a member of Columbus Scottish Rites and also Columbian Masonic Lodge #7, where he was a Past Grandmaster. Mr. Boland served his country honorably in the 12th U.S. Army-Air Force in World War II as a radar operator and repairman. He worked at H. Rothschild and Co. for many years before and after World War II, then worked as an independent appliance and television repairman.
Mr. Boland was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Boland Smith and Sara Kate Griffith; two brothers, Otis and Tom Boland; and a grandson, Jeff Durham. He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Janie E. Boland of Columbus; one daughter, Martha Ann Durham and her husband Jim of Columbus; one son, Bradley Raymond Boland III and his wife Janet of Sarasota, FL; three brothers, Earnest P. Boland and his wife Betty, Cecil Glen Boland and his wife Jan, and Jack E. Boland and his wife Ruth; four grandchildren, Stephen Bradley Boland and his wife Julie, Joseph Wesley Boland and his wife Christy, Marie Durham, and Bo Durham and his wife Kimberly; three great-grandchildren, Logan Bradley Boland, Bennett Durham, and Jillian Durham; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Masonic Children's Home or Morningside Baptist Church building fund.
