Carlos R Baron

Carlos R. Baron, age 62, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021. A rosary and visitation for Carlos will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 at 5:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St Anne Catholic Church, 2000 Kay Circle, Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Carlos was born November 4, 1958 in Narvacan, Ilocos, Philippines; the son of Juan Miraflores and Josefina Reintegrado. Carlos graduated from Emory University school of Dentistry with a Doctorate Degree. After graduating from dental school, he served in U.S. Army for four years. He then opened his own dental practice, the office of general dentistry of Carlos Baron, DDS, P.C. He married the love of his life Amy Panagsagan Baron, they were married for 23 years, and he was previously married to Dr. Jocelyn Galang-Ray. Carlos was the former President of FAA (Filipino American Association), a board member of Bayanihan of Columbus, GA, and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Carlos lived life to the fullest, he was witty, and he loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed playing mahjong, tongits, and especially dice games at the casino. He loved singing with the company of close friends and family, especially if they enjoyed great food together. He was caring, ready, and thought about others and how he could help them. Carlos had some medical challenges and despite those he continued to think of his office staff and patients, staying strong until then. Carlos we will miss you!

He is preceded in death by: his mother, Josefina Martin; his father Jose Baron; and 3 siblings, Alda Ellis, Joey Baron, and Joern Baron.

Survivors include: his wife, Amy Baron; his children, Carlos Junior (Mary Rose) Baron, Joseph (Rose Ann) Baron, step-children, Amy Lee (Deodatu) Tabligan, Alvin (Valerie) Gonzales, Anna Mare (Michael) Aguire; grandchildren, Marcelo, Kaia, Jeremiah, Kaden, Adriana, Deion, Ayani, Alan, Davien; brother-in-law, Danny Ellis, nephew, Philip Ellis, and niece Lauren Ellis.
