Charles Edward Jones, 58, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11AM in the Edgewood Hall Chapel of Striffler-Hamby, a visitation for family and friends will follow after the service.
Born May 2nd 1963 to parents Charles Edward Jones SR. and Sandra K. Jones. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and Uncle. Eddie was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Flatley Frigate #21. He completed a tour in the Persian Gulf, before his time of service came to an end and was discharged honorably. Eddie was a sports fanatic, Baseball, Football, and Basketball were his favorites.
He coached little league baseball for numerous years, including coaching his son, Chris from Tball till he was 12 years old. Eddie continued to coach a couple seasons even after his son was finished with little league. He was a die-hard Atlanta Braves and Falcons fan. He also enjoyed listening to Troy college football on the radio. Eddie never met a stranger and had a huge heart filled with love for all those in his life.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Jones, Sr., and by his grandfather, Roy J. Sullivan (Pop).
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Sandra K. Jones; son, Stephen Christopher (Chris) Jones of Columbus, GA; daughter in law, Stefanie Jones of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Isabella Schlomer, Sebastian Jones and Locklan Jones; brother, Jeff Jones of Columbus, GA; and a host of family members.
