1SG (Ret) Charles "David" Jones

A service to celebrate his life with military honors will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 3:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia. Family will visit with friends after the service.

Charles David Jones was born on May 29, 1949 in Laurel, Mississippi to Gettie Almeta Nichols Jones and Robert Roy Jones. He faithfully served our country in the U.S. Army during his service he went to the rank of 1SG, retiring with more than 20 years and served during the Vietnam Era. After his retirement from the U.S. Army he joined AFLAC’s security team working as Security Officer and 2nd Shift Supervisor. David enjoyed telling great stories, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Carolyn and Billie Ruth and brothers: Jimmy and Larry Jones.

David leaves his legacy to his loving wife of over 46 years, Patricia “Patsy” Jones; his son, Charles David II and his wife Kimberly and their children: Austin Tyler Jones, Dustin Dakota Jones and Christopher Jayden Jones; his daughter-in-law, Kristy Jones; his brother, Ray “Jackie” H. Jones and his wife Elizabeth “Chick” Jones; and numerous other relatives.
