Christine Valero

She was born July 13, 1954 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Mary Catherine Lowery and J.R. Lowery Sr. Christine attended Jordan Vocational High school and dedicated her time to caring for her children. She attended Word of Faith church in Phenix City, Alabama.

Christine enjoyed watching soap operas and western tv shows, as well as going to the movie theatre. Family was very important to her, as she cherished all the time she had with them whether it was going to the beach with her sister, having dinner with her kids, or spending time playing with her grandchildren. In her free time she enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing solitaire.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, J-Bo, and grandson, Duane Turner.

She is survived by her sister, Diann Shelley (Lynn), children, Leo Valero (Margo), Joseph Valero (Emily), Jason Valero (Lisa), Kathy Valero, along with multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephew, and friends.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Fisher Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
