Clayton Ray Sykes, age 19, of Columbus, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 1, 2021. A visitation of family and friends will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907; a celebration of Clayton's life will follow at 2:00 pm.
Clayton was born December 2, 2001 in Columbus, GA. Clayton was a line supervisor at Clearwater Sport Fishing Boats. Clayton was the victim of the fatal motorcycle accident on Whittlesey Blvd., on December 27, 2020. Clayton’s life motto was “live like you were dying,” not that he ever thought he would. It was more about Clayton treating everyone right, he was kind to others, he always had a smile to share, and he was protective of those he loved. Clayton was hard-working and he was always ready to learn something new. He never wanted to wait to do something because he said, “life is too short to put things off.” Clayton even though so young, lived a full life, because he lived his life to the fullest.
Clayton is survived by: his mother, Brandi Sykes; stepdad, Michael Martin; his nana, Sandra Pearson West; fiancé, Megan Stenmark and her son, Lucian; grandparents, Don and Barbara Sykes; three aunts; other family relatives and friends of the family that will cherish his memory.
