
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 5, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Macon Road Chapel, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus with a private interment in Parkhill Cemetery. Dr. Buddy Cooper will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 7 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Carmack was born June 26, 1932 in Phenix City, AL the son of the late Comer Aston Carmack, Sr. and the late Mary Kate Mills Carmack. He lived all of his life in Phenix City / Columbus area and he was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Carmack was the retired owner of Muscogee Iron Works. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Green Island Country Club, Columbus Jaycees, Chattahoochee River Club, lifetime member of Auburn Alumni Association, and Columbus Engineering Society. He was a graduate of Auburn University.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Comer Aston "Trey" Carmack, III and his wife, Sherri; a daughter and son-in-law, Katie Howard and her husband, Ed; two grandchildren, David E. Howard and Meagan C. Howard; a brother and sister-in-law, Nathan D. Carmack, Sr. and his wife, Beth; several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, Youth Ministry.
