Dolly Hays Todd

Dolly Hays Todd, age 74, resident of Winder, GA and former resident of Columbus, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Gwinnett Medical Center, Atlanta, GA. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus on Friday, April 2, 2010, 3 p.m. with Reverend (Dr.) Jimmy Elder officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 2-3 p.m.

Mrs. Todd, daughter of the late Garland U. Hays and Janie B. Hays, was born March 9, 1936 in Henderson, KY. She was graduated from Barrett High School, Henderson, KY in 1954 and moved Columbus in 1964. Mrs. Todd graduated from Columbus College, receiving a BA in Psychology with Summa Cum laude in 1972. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society. Mrs. Todd then graduated from Walter F. George School of Law-Mercer University-J.D., 1984. She also attended the University of Transylvania; University of Evansville where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority; and Auburn University. Mrs. Todd is a member of the Georgia Bar Association since 1984 and had practiced law in Columbus for over 15 years. She was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and also the Columbus State University Theatre Advisory Board. Mrs. Todd was a member of First Baptist Church for over 23 years and also the Agape Sunday School Class.

She is survived by two daughters, Camille Todd Larkin and her husband David Larkin of Dacula, GA., and Jennifer Dale Camp and her husband Jeff Camp of Davenport, FL; one son, John Lee Todd and his wife Pam Todd of Daphne, AL; one brother, Thomas Dale Hays of Henderson, KY; five grandchildren, Hays Todd, Anna Todd, Todd Larkin, Cameron Larkin, and Carson Camp; eight nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
