

Donald Harold Carter, 75, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at his residence. A Graveside Service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery with a visitation one hour prior at Striffler - Hamby.
Don was born on September 3, 1949, in Perry, Georgia to the late Thomas Brenice and Laura Lucy Ridley Carter. He graduated from Dodge County High School in 1967 in Eastman, Georgia. Afterwards, he served in the United States Navy from 1967-1971. Upon the end of his military service, he graduated in 1977 with honors from the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy.
Don cherished his time with family and friends. He was a faithful and loving husband of almost fifty-four years to Pam. He created a wonderful life for his two children, Libby and Andy. He served many surrounding communities in the area as a knowledgeable and dedicated Pharmacist. Upon his retirement he found joy in spending quality time with each of his grandchildren. His wisdom, honesty and loyalty were a gift to many along the way. The outdoors were always calling his name and he could usually be found amongst the trees at the land with his faithful companions, Buddy and Peanut.
Those that will carry on his memory are his wife, Pamela Casey Carter, his children, Laura Carter Hudson (Jeff), Andrew Howard Carter (Resa) and his grandchildren, Ridley Hudson, Carter Hudson, Andy Carter, Mercer Hudson, and Claire Carter. Don is also survived by his sister, Robyn Carter, as well as his sister in laws, Ruth Carter, Joan Carter Couey and Janet O’Neal. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Other than his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Chaplain Thomas Charles Carter, USN and Mark Obie Carter. His father in law, Clifford Howard Casey and mother in law, Dorothy Clemmons Casey.
