Dorothy O. Kelley

Graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 3 p.m. with Reverend Gary Hartman officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 5-7 p.m.

Mrs. Kelley, daughter of Jennie Valura Brewer O'Blenness and the late Cecil Walter O'Blenness, was born November 19, 1932 at Fort Benning, GA. She was an avid bowler and a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Harris County where she had served as church secretary for several years. Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Kelley and also two sons, Mike Kelley and Terry Kelley. She is survived by her mother, Valura "O.B." O'Blenness of Columbus; daughter, Jennie Stapleton and her husband Owen of Richland, GA; sister, LaVonne Herring of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Dianne Kelley of Columbus; four grandchildren, Tracy Kelley of Columbus, Jory Prather and her husband Blake of Columbus, Kelley Stapleton of Richland, GA, and Jack Stapleton also of Richland, GA; two great-grandchildren, John Thomas Moore and Lilli Prather; other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for the care and love rendered by Dr. Ahmed and his staff, and also the staff of St. Francis Hospital.
