

Edith McGowan Pease, 81, of Columbus, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00 am in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Pease was born in Dublin, Georgia. She joined St. Paul United Methodist Church in 1997 and volunteered with the "Label Ladies" at the church. Prior to her membership at St. Paul she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Pease was preceded in death by her husband, William Clark Pease, III, her sons, William Clark Pease IV and Albert Edward Pease.
Survivors include her sister, Judy McGowan Gower (Charlie); brother, Mr. John Ray McGowan (Paula); daughters Anna Pease Johnson (Bobby), Crafton Pease Langley (Gary); grandchildren Whitney Clark Johnson, Robert Whitaker Johnson; nieces Anne Gower, Kathleen Pease McGowan (Darrell), Mimi Pease Childs (Dick), Minnie Scarbrough Cappel; nephews Austin Gower (Laura), Claude Gordy Scarbrough (Molly), William Pease Scarbrough (Karol).
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Betty Burgess, Kim Cole and to Carol Barker, their Mother's daily caregivers.
