Eileen moved to Plant City, Florida in 1948 and studied voice at Florida Southern College and after she sang live on local radio and various church events. She also loved her family, playing the piano, shopping, camping, and fishing. She worked as a bookkeeper/accounting clerk in and around Plant City, Florida for 50+ years.
After she lost her husband, her children got her a Yorkshire Terrier that she named Muffin, who was her trusty companion of seven years. Eileen was quite the daring type and would try just about anything from off road riding to flying in her son’s power parachute. She had a green thumb in which she used to grow beautiful orchids and collected a variety of succulents. She enjoyed arts and crafts which included painting, sewing, and quilting. She also participated in historical reenactments and would make all of her period dresses and accessories. A fan of olden black and white western TV shows, her favorites were Bonanza and any John Wayne movies.
She is survived by her son, Dallas R. Allen (Debbie); her daughter, Patricia C. Hutchinson (Dale); her daughter in law, Jena; five grandchildren, Matthew, Kimberly, Brandi, Amber, Garrett; and twelve great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Oscar Benjamin Wiggins Jr; her son, Benjamin Gary Wiggins; and her great grandson, Mark Anthony Moore.
A service will be held at a later date at Florida National Cemetery where she will be placed with her husband.
