Beth was the daughter of the late James Gaston Glover, Sr. and Ester Lucille Allen Glover, and was born on December 27, 1930, in Columbus, Georgia. Although she was unable to attend church, she was strong in her faith. Beth graduated from Jordan Vocational High School and attended Georgia State College for Women. She was the owner of Beth Barrington School of Dance, a belly dancing instructor, and showed Tennessee Walking Horses and American Saddlebred Horses. When living in Waverly Hall she was active in the Waverly Hall Ladies Civic Club and a member of The Washboard Band. She instilled a love of music, art, nature, and animals in her family.
Beth is survived by her three children, Gail Barrington Underwood, Carl “Chuck” Richard Barrington, Jr. (Kaycee), and Kim Barrington Hoffman (Peter); grandchildren, Jessica Underwood Batson (Kurt), Adrienne Barrington Deen (Josh), Carl Richard Barrington, III (Andrea), Paul Barrington Hoffman (Mollie), and Chad Jameson Hoffman (Morgan); great-grandchildren, Nolan Batson, Myles Batson, Sael Deen, Wilder Deen, Callie Napier, Carolyn Hoffman, and Pierce Hoffman; and lifelong friends, Annie Griggs and Melissa Williams.
For those wishing to honor her memory, donations may be made to The Dance Academy at FamilyTheatre.org. This is a non-profit organization where Melissa Williams carries on the dance legacy for Beth.
