Emily B. Bridges McRae

Emily B. McRae, 75, of Cataula, passed away on, Monday, June 19, 2017. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Riverdale Cemetery, 1000 Victory Dr., Columbus. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. McRae was born in Columbus, Georgia on August 7, 1941, the daughter of Bobby Bridges and Helen Newsome Bridges. Emily was a lifetime resident of Columbus and a member of the Jordan High Class of 1959. She was retired as an Optometrist’s Assistant for Dr. William T. Yoe. Emily enjoyed many things through her life, including being an avid Auburn Fan and being the #1 fan of her “third son” Dale Earnhardt Jr. - #88. What was most important and what she loved the most was the time spent being with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert I. “Bobby” Bridges Jr. Survivors include, two sons, , Mike McRae (Traci) of Cataula, Robert Bryan McRae (Nancy) of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Christen (Josh), Cari, Brisa, Logan, McKenzie, MiKayla, Madison; five great grandchildren, Brayden, Lynleigh, Courtney, Emily, Ryan; and many nieces and nephews.
