Esperanza Zaldua Villafuerte Ramos

Esperanza Villafuerte Ramos, 102, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Columbus Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:00am in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA 31907, with Father Jacob Almeter officiating. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 6:00pm Tuesday in the St. Elmo Room.

Mrs. Ramos, daughter of the late Celerina Zaldua and Juan Villafuerte, was born March 28, 1914 in Labo, Camarine Norte, Philipines. She moved to the United States in 1972 to be with her family. Mrs. Ramos loved spending time with her family, she was a master seamstress and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She also enjoyed gardening, movies, bingo and sewing.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Ramos is preceded in death by her husband, Siesmundo Ramos. She is survived by her two daughters Dr. Virginia Martinez (Romulo) of Columbus, GA and Nora R. Montemayor of Columbus, GA; grandchildren Pocholo R. Martinez, Aimee Marjanski, Carolyn Kavanagh, Noel Montemayor, Grace R. Montemayor, Emil R. Montemayor and Mercy Fickenscher; great grandchildren Julian Kavanagh, Ansel Solene Kavanagh, Archimedes Marjanski, Suneva Martinez, Sarah Fickenscher, Sophia Fickenscher, Emily Montemayor and Melody Montemayor.
