

Eva Pound Rothschild died peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Columbus Hospice. Eva was born in Columbus, Georgia, on July 17, 1932, daughter of Murphey and Eva Garrett Pound. She graduated from Columbus High School, and after attending Mary Baldwin College, graduated from the University of Georgia.
Eva married Alan F. Rothschild on September 21, 1957, and soon after moved into a Midtown Columbus home with extensive rose and camellia gardens which they enjoyed and shared with so many in the community for nearly six decades. She was a life-long member of Trinity Episcopal Church, a member of the Junior League of Columbus and Kappa Kappa Gamma and was recognized as Honorary Show Chairman by the Chattahoochee Valley Camellia Society in 2016.
Eva was predeceased by her husband and two brothers, Murphey Pound, Jr. and Jere M. Pound III. Survivors include her three children, Alan F. Rothschild, Jr. (Jewett) of Columbus and William G. Rothschild (Susan) and Elizabeth P. Rothschild of Atlanta; and four grandchildren, Alan F. Rothschild III (Libbie) of Nashville, TN, and Caroline J. Rothschild, Elizabeth S. Rothschild and William G. Rothschild, Jr. of Atlanta. In September, she welcomed her first great-grandchild, Adelaide F. Rothschild.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., The Rev. Timothy H. Graham officiating.
