He was always a loving husband and father, smart, kind and full of laughs. He was always there for his family, to help and support us, and never missed an opportunity to joke around with all of us. He loved to play golf with his friends and support his favorite team, Georgia Tech. He always enjoyed sports, including football, golf and bowling. He played football for his high school team and continued to play sports throughout his life. He enjoyed music, especially oldies and classical with Beethoven and Neil Diamond being his favorites. He thoroughly enjoyed his involvement in the Community Theater here in Columbus, where he was able to play his favorite characters, including Roosevelt and Ebenezer Scrooge. He was an avid reader and history buff and enjoyed vacationing at Mexico Beach, FL. He never failed to ride rollercoasters with his daughter Katherine and loved spending time with her and his wife Connie. He gave his family unending love and support and was always there for them, even when times were difficult. He will forever remain in the hearts of his family, both immediate and extended, and friends, where his love will continue, and the memory of his laughter will always make us smile.
The family is grateful for the professional and personal care he received at St. Francis Hospital and would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the caring and attentive staff at the Emergency Room and Cardiovascular ICU. If anyone would like to send their condolences, please mail any cards to:
