

Frances Ragsdale Hildreth, age 82, of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at Westwood Nursing Home in Evans, GA. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. One hour prior to the 2 p.m. Funeral Service followed by Interment at Evergreen Memory Gardens on St. Mary’s Road, Columbus, GA, with the Reverend Watson McKemie officiating.
Mrs. Hildreth was born on January 10, 1933, daughter of Allen Milton Ragsdale and Susie Mickle Ragsdale. She married Carlton Donald Hildreth June 16, 1950 in Columbus, GA. She had three sons, Kenneth Charles Hildreth, Bobby Don Hildreth and Carlton Donald Hildreth, Jr.
She was a longtime member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God, a former member and Sunday School teacher at North Highland Assembly of God and one of the founding members of Riverview Assembly of God where she played the piano and taught Sunday School. Mrs. Hildreth was very active in her community. She served as PTA President at River Road Elementary, Daniel Junior High and Jordan High School. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association, where she served as Publicity Chairman. She also was a member of the Columbus Chapter of the Columbus Credit Women’s International and also served as the State Treasurer of the Credit Women’s International. She served as a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Gideons International having served as President, Secretary and State Hostess Chairman for the Gideon’s State Convention. She and her husband Don held monthly services at the Valley Rescue Mission, and provided music services at Magnolia Manor, Heritage Hills and Riverplace Retirement home. Mrs. Hildreth retired from Martin Army Hospital, on April 1, 1995 after 20 years as a Civil Service Employee in the Resource Management Division.
Survivors include her son Bobby Don Hildreth and his wife Gail of Thomson, GA, daughter-in-law, Theresa Hildreth of Columbus, GA, granddaughter, Lindsey Welch and her husband Seth of Watkinsville, GA; grandson, Justin Hildreth and his wife Katie of Cumming, GA; and grandson, Chuck Olson and his wife Michelle of Ozark, AL, four great grandchildren, Samuel Olson of Ozark Alabama, Landry and Davis Welch of Watkinsville, GA and Blakely Hildreth of Cumming, GA, a niece Jennifer Campbell and her husband Keith of Summerville, SC, a niece Sandra Ragsdale, of Fredericksburg, WV and several other cousins, great nieces and nephews, family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Susie Ragsdale, her husband Don Hildreth, sons, Ken and Carl Hildreth, and brothers Buddy and Terry Ragsdale.
