SFC (Ret) Francis O. "Doug" Douglas, resident of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Monday, December 5, 2016, 11 a.m. with Reverend Bruce Jones, Reverend Roger Morrison, and Reverend James Strickland officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 3-5 p.m.
Mr. Douglas, son of the late Milo Roy Douglas and Flora Bennett Douglas, was born July 25, 1932 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for 30 years.
Mr. Douglas is survived by two daughters, Dena Jones and her husband Bruce and Leila Holt and her husband Steve; one son, Roy Douglas and his wife Shelley; one sister, Joyce Stevinson and her husband Larry; two brothers, Glen Douglas and Evan Douglas and his wife Mary; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
