Frank Donald Reaves, age 83, of Cataula, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019. A visitation for family & friends will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Edgewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907, followed by A Celebration of Frank's life at 3:00 pm. A private burial will occur Wednesday, November 27, 2019, Jacksonville, AL.
Frank was born July 5, 1936 in Jacksonville, Alabama to his late parents Hetti Rose Reaves and Levi Reaves and was Baptist by faith. Frank came to Columbus, like many other, to work in the textile industry. He had a great work ethic and was promoted to Supervisor at Swift Textiles where he retired. Frank loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed telling stories and laughing with the grandchildren over tales of his youth. He taught his children to be respectful, how to take care of themselves and live life to the fullest. Frank will always be remembered as a big hearted, honest and caring man who loved his family and friends.
Other than his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Joan Reaves and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by daughter, Judy Berry; son-in-law, Steve Berry; son, Franky Reaves and many grandchildren and great grandchildren along with other family members and many friends to cherish his memory.
