Freddye J. McQuaig

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2012 in Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with a private interment in Parkhill Cemetery. Rev. Thad Smith, Dr. Ed Helton, and Rev. Charles Mitchell will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McQuaig was born December 31, 1923 in Randolph County, GA the daughter of the late Idus B. Jones and the late Estha Bass Jones. She had lived in Columbus for the past sixty five years and retired from the Muscogee County School District as a secretary at Clubview Elementary School.

Mrs. McQuaig was an active member of Morningside Baptist Church since 1961. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Gregory W. McQuaig, and a sister, Eugenia Cheney.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Winston McQuaig, Sr. of Columbus; three children, Dale M. Wommack and her husband Tommy, Sue M. Smith and her husband, Arthur, Winston A. McQuaig, Jr. and his wife, Cindy all of Columbus; six grandchildren, Dr. Chris Wommack and his wife, Kelli, Jay Wommack and his wife, Tina, Emily Brannan and her husband, Joseph, Ellen Smith, Jeff McQuaig and Brad McQuaig; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Wommack, Bekah Wommack, and Ryan Wommack; also many nieces and nephews.
