Geneva W Stanford

Geneva Wickham Stanford, 77, of Columbus passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born March 16, 1934 to the late Dock and Martha Hupp Wickham.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus, with Reverend Paul Buckhiester officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Stanford will be from 5-7 pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stanford was Methodist by faith, she was an active member of the South Columbus Senior Center. Mrs. Stanford also served as treasurer for the South Columbus Senior Center and was admired by the staff and members. She was active for over 20 years with the Challenger Baseball League.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Robert "Bob" Stanford, two daughters, Sharon (Billy) Nicolay of Columbus, GA, Karen (Tom) Hucks of Rock Hill, SC, three sons, Robert "Butch" (Nona) Stanford of LaGrange, GA, Richard Eugene (Kristen) Stanford of Canton, OH, and Roger Stanford of Columbus, GA, one brother, Arthur Wickham of Zanesville, OH, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
