Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1444 Hwy 165, Ft. Mitchell, AL. 36856. Father David Hamm will be officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City, AL. Mr. Quintanilla will be laid to rest at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being said at 4:00 p.m.
SFC Quintanilla was born on April 8, 1949 in Guam to the late Jose S.N. Quintanilla and Ursula Camacho Brown. Aside from his family, George’s greatest devotion was to the Military were he proudly served for 23 years. During his Military career he received numerous medals which include the, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Army Good Conduct Medal (7 Award) Drill Sergeant Identification Badge and an Over Seas Service Ribbon. George was an avid Alabama fan, hunter and gardener. Other than his parents George was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Quintanilla, siblings, Benny Quintanilla, Joseph Quintanilla and a granddaughter, Miracle Brewer.
Survivors include his children, Rocco Quintanilla, Roxanne Toves (Charles), Joseph Quintanilla, Curtis Quintanilla and Christopher Quintanilla, all of Ft. Mitchell, AL, siblings, Jeanette C. Quintanilla (Juan), Bernadette Quintanilla, Mary Santos (Norbert), Lourdes C. Jubilado, David Jubilado (Venes) and Carmelita Martinez (Jerry), sister-in-law, Lydia Sanchez, aunt, Rosalia Boltin, 8 grandchildren, Zachary, Edliza, Christ, Adolyn, Aliyah, Lamont, Montavian and Keo numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
