Graveside services will be held at Parkhill Cemetery on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM.
Mrs. Hamlet was born on April 25, 1925 in Rome, Georgia to the late Robert A. Gray and Sarah Elizabeth Jackson Gray. She was a member of VFW #665 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Hamlet was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Hamlet and a brother, Robert Gray.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Gary Voorhees of Columbus; two grandchildren, Ginger Storm and James W. Odom; three great-grandchildren, Cheyan Odom, Josh Odom and Hannah Storm; a sister, Frances Miller.
