Harriet Ann Semisch Mills, 82, of Phenix City, Alabama formerly of Columbus, Georgia went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, November 9, 2024, while surrounded by her family. She will be fiercely missed.
Harriett was born on April 20, 1942, in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Doris and Kurt Semisch. An avid organist and pianist, she played at the Massachusetts State Fair at the age of 13 and made a career out of it as she played for many years at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbus, Georgia. She never met a stranger as she always loved meeting new people and could be the life of the party. She will be remembered for her immense love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Doreen Byler (Greg), Douglas Murphree Mills (Kelli), and Jennifer Denise Moore (Greg); her grandchildren, Laurin Forbes (Toby), Ashley Stuffel, Jacob Colquitt (Misti), Allison Moore, Rebecca Thompson (Tanner), and Owen Moore; her great grandchildren, Harper, Atticus, Cooper, Winsley, Finlee, and Falon; her brother-in-law, Robert Voll; her sister in law, Sherry Boutwell; her nieces and nephews; and her special family friend, Drucilla Mills. She is preceded in death by her husband, Murphree Mills; her sister, Charlotte Mae Semisch Voll; her daughter, Kathryn Alisha Mills; and her parents, the Late Kurt and Doris Semisch.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4700 Armour Rd, Columbus, GA 31904 with a Visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856.
