
Mrs. Craig was born in Milledgeville, Georgia, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Bivins. She graduated from Georgia State College with a B.S. degree, and taught Home Economics in the Muscogee County School District. Later she was transferred to Elementary Schools.
Mrs. Craig was a member of First Baptist Church, teacher in the primary department, G.A. leader, President of Amoma Sunday School Class, and active in mission work.
Mrs. Craig was a member of the George Walton Chapter N.S.D.A.R., the Heritage Club, and charter member of the Mimosa Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Craig, Jr. Survivors include her daughter Jean Craig O'Kelley, and husband David W. O'Kelley; granddaughters Kimberly and husband, Andrew MacKenzie; Jennifer and husband Ryan Dobbins; one grandson, David H. O'Kelley; four great granddaughters, Bailey, Audrey, Lucy and Maci Dobbins and one great grandson, Caleb MacKenzie; a nephew, Thomas Bivins and wife Mary Jean of Montana, nieces Betty Jean Newman, Dorothy Sanders and Debby Whatley.
The family would like to thank the Columbus Hospice and her hospice team Melody Hawthorne R.N., Elizabeth Moses C.N.A., Pat Godwin S.W., and James Cornette, Chaplin. The family would also like to thank her dedicated team of caregivers Ruby Upshaw, Lisa Dionne and Haylie Miller who were with her until the end. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church children ministries.
