Hilde Cain

Hilde Cain, age 88, resident of Columbus, died on March 6, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus on Thursday, March 10, 2011, 1 p.m., with Dr. Buddy Cooper officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Cain, daughter of the late Michael Jokob Löbig and Anna Maria Nepputh Löbig, was born July 17, 1922 in Dieburg, Germany. She was a homemaker and Catholic by faith. Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her husband, Lester James Cain and two sisters, Anna Beschoner and Marie Nahrgang. She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn C. Wilcox and her husband Jim of Albany, GA and Doris Bostick and her husband Mike of Columbus; two sons, Ralph R. Cain and his wife Carol of Greenville, SC and Michael S. Cain of Columbus; seven grandchildren, David Ray Wilcox, Jennifer Leigh Swartzmiller, Laura Elizabeth Mahony, Nathan L. Bostic, Brandon J. Bostic, Rebecca E. Cain, and Tayler Cain; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
