

John 14:1-3 says "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." Which he did the night of Monday, January 6th, 2025 at Piedmont Midtown Regional with our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Mrs. Nicholson was born to the late Lâm Van Bá and Nguyen Thi Hoa on November 14, 1948. After marrying her late husband, Lowell, the newly married couple traveled around the states before finally settling in Columbus, GA. Mrs. Nicholson soon developed a passion for being a nail tech and business owner which earned her the nickname “Mama Rose”. After many years, she found herself retiring and passed down the nail business to her daughter Rose. Mrs. Nicholson loved spending time at home with her grandchildren and son, Timothy, where she enjoyed hobbies such as cooking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lowell Nicholson, and her cherished sons, Billy, Bobby, and Gary.
Hong is survived by her loving children, Rose Nicholson (Thomas), and Timothy Nicholson. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Nicholson, Thomas Wayne Nicholson, Benjamin Wayne Nicholson, Jonathan Wayne Nicholson, Phung (Ariana) Nicholson, Thomas Henry Watkins II, and Christian Xavier Watkins. Additionally, she is remembered by a host of great-grandchildren and siblings. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire her family and friends.
A Funeral Service for Mama Rose will be held Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia.
