A service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at 1pm Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. The family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Moore and Rev. Randy Puckett will be officiating.
Jack was born June 19, 1944 in Columbus, Georgia, son of the late John T. Massey and Kathryn S. Massey. He served with the Columbus Police Department for 33 years. Jack was also a General Contractor for over 25 years. He attended Solid Rock Assembly of God Church in Midland, Georgia.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Holly Chip.
Survivors include his loving wife Glenda S. Massey; his daughter Rhonda Moore (Richard); his son Jay Massey; his son-in-law George Chip; his grandchildren Somer Welch (Chase), Kyndal Nipper (Thomas), Sadie Chip, Spencer Massey, and Paul Rose; his great grandchildren Elijah Welch and Blakeley Nipper; his brothers Jerry (Margie), Oscar, James (Linda), Charles, John T. (Linda); numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, who all loved their Uncle Jack.
Jack was a friend to all, and he never met a stranger. His generous spirit, kindness, and sense of humor will be remembered by everyone whose lives he touched. He was devoted to his family and committed to his Lord Jesus Christ. Jack Massey fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).
