Jacqueline Tompkins, 78, of Columbus, Georgia passed away May 27, 2018, surrounded by her four daughters and loved ones. Mrs. Tompkins’ family would like to invite friends and loved ones for visitation, Friday, June 1, 2018, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Funeral Services will take place Saturday, June 2, 2018, also at Striffler-Hamby at 3:00 pm.
Jacqueline B. Tompkins will be remembered fondly for her love of people and willingness to care for others, and her creative talents in sewing aided her in her efforts to help others whether it be for new school clothes for her children or making blankets to keep loved ones warm in the winter. As a caregiver, she even looked after her husband until his passing in 1996. She was someone who could always find something to talk about just because she loved others and enjoyed the quality time together.
Mrs. Tompkins is preceded in death by: her loving husband, Norman; her parents, Vida and Thomas Brady; and her siblings, Pat, Conny, Sue, and Tommy.
She is survived by: her four daughters, Barbara, Wanda (Bubba), Norma (Gene), Rose (Paul); her siblings, Emma, Iris, Gail, Phyllis; her grandchildren, Stephen, Stacy, Phillip, Jessica, Joey, Christy, BJ, Heather, James, Kaytlynne, Laycee; and 21 great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her loving and nurturing spirit.
