

TSgt (Ret) James R. Goodman, age 72, resident of Fortson, GA, died on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, 11 a.m. with Reverend Tommy Henschel officiating. Interment will follow at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. Mr. Goodman, son of the late William E. Goodman and Vera Elizabeth Osborn Goodman, was born May 17, 1939 in Columbus. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Mr. Goodman was retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served honorably for 20 years. After retirement from the military, he then worked for and retired from the U.S. Postal service. Mr. Goodman was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles R. Goodman and Robert Goodman. He is survived by his wife, Diane T. Goodman of Fortson, GA; two daughters, Debra Wagner and her husband Lee of Fayetteville, GA and Elizabeth A. Goodman of San Antonio, TX; one son, Edward L. Goodman of San Antonio, TX; one brother, John S. Charboneau of North Platte, NE; three step-children, Forrest E. Moore and his wife Tracie, Emily Rai and her husband David, and Ellen Tomlin; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Vista Care Hospice, 100 Brookstone Centre Parkway, Columbus, GA 31904 or Cornerstone Baptist Church, Attn: Bldg Fund, P.O.
